When and where are the 2026 Games?
Dates: Saturday & Sunday, February 7–8, 2026.
Venue: Apalachee Regional Park, Tallahassee, FL.
Gates open at 8:30 AM Saturday and 9:00 AM Sunday. Closing is ~5:00 PM on Saturday and ~4:00 PM on Sunday.

How do I buy tickets and what do they cost?

Adults: 1‑day $25 · 2‑day $45
Kids 7–12: 1‑day $6 · 2‑day $12 (children 6 & under are free)
Are there VIP options?
Yes—our Patron/VIP packages include VIP parking, VIP tent access (shade & refreshments), Saturday evening sponsors’ dinner entry, program recognition, and a cultural tasting experience. See Sponsors & Patrons for Kilted, Thistle, and Highlander packages.
Is there a whisky tasting?
We host a cultural Whisky Tasting Experience (education-focused). A separate ticket is required in addition to your festival ticket. Book here: Whisky Tasting. Sessions are scheduled Saturday noon & 3 PM and Sunday noon & 3 PM. Limited seats.
What’s the schedule like?
Heavy Athletics run both days starting at 9:00 AM, alongside music and dance stages, heritage talks, living‑history demos, falconry, archery, and Kids’ Highland Games. Feature moments include Opening Ceremony (Sat), Kirkin’ o’ the Tartan (Sun), and championship awards on Sunday afternoon.
What athletic competitions are held?
Traditional Highland events (caber toss, stones, weights for distance, hammer, sheaf, weight‑over‑bar) plus the National Caber Championship and Stones of Strength finals. Details and athlete registration here: Athletics & Registration. A kilt is required for competitors.
Is there a fun run?
Yes—the Tally Tartan Trot (Kilted Mile) on Sunday morning. It’s free with festival admission (ages 14+), but you must wear a kilt or tartan. See the Kilted Mile page to register while spots last.
What about the Beard Competition?
Join the Mane Event: Beard Battle hosted by the North Florida Facial Hair Society (all beard styles welcome). It’s free to participate with festival admission. See details here: Beard Competition.
Where should I stay?
Our host hotel is the Holiday Inn Tallahassee East Capitol – University, just minutes from the park and offering family‑friendly amenities. See Host Hotel info for the contact and group booking details.
Is parking available?
Yes. Follow event signage and staff directions on arrival. VIP packages include designated VIP parking near the VIP tent.
Can I bring kids? Is there a kids’ area?
Absolutely. Kids 6 & under are free; affordable add‑on tickets for ages 7–12. The Kids’ Highland Area features crafts, games, mini‑lessons, storytelling, and more—most activities are included once you’re inside.
What can I bring?
- Daypack, sunscreen, hat, refillable water bottle
- Folding chair or picnic blanket

Please leave outside alcohol, drones, and weapons at home. All attendees agree to our festival Rules & Disclaimer.
Are pets allowed?
Service animals are welcome. For other pets, please check our Rules & Disclaimer before you come, as space and livestock/animal programming may limit general pet access.
Do you allow re‑entry?
Yes—keep your wristband and get it scanned at gates for same‑day re‑entry.
Will there be food and drinks?
Yes—food trucks and Celtic favorites (pies, scones, shortbread, and more), plus beverages. Vendors vary by day/time and are subject to change.
How do clans and cultural nonprofits participate?
We provide free space to clans and approved cultural nonprofits (heritage, conservation, traditional arts). Learn more at Featured Clans & Societies and Vendors.
How do I vend?
Apply on our Vendors page. We prioritize goods tied to Scottish, Irish, Gaelic, or Celtic cultures. Space is limited; apply early.
Can I volunteer?
Yes! Volunteers help with gates, stages, heritage areas, and hospitality. Sign up here: Volunteer.
What’s your refund policy?
Tickets are generally non‑refundable; please see the policy provided during checkout. If severe weather or unexpected issues occur, updates are posted on our website and social media.
